Why Do I Need Dental Veneers?

Dr. Shea Wilson specializes as one of the top dental veneer dentists in the St Louis area. Porcelain veneers are a thin strip of porcelain that is custom fitted on the front of a tooth to provide an enhanced look and extra structural support. Dental Veneers offer a natural-looking appearance that hides unappealing features, such as stains and discoloration, chipped teeth, spaced teeth, and misshapen teeth. Dental Veneers are strong, stain resistant, permanent, and are cared for the same way a patient would normally take care of their teeth. Book an appointment today at our St. Louis office to have the top dental Veneers dentist help you with your smile.

Why Porcelain Veneers?

For some, smiling can be an embarrassing experience. Veneers remedy this problem by providing a bright, white appearance that is properly aligned and matches the color of the patient’s natural teeth.

Veneers are designed to make teeth look healthy, improve confidence, and help the patient feel better about smiling.

What is a Dental Veneers Procedure Like?

Planning: We will explain what porcelain veneers are and what the patient will experience during and after the procedure. Our dentist and the patient will discuss the condition of the patient’s teeth and whether porcelain veneers are a good option. The goals of the procedure will be outlined and examinations will be made of the patient’s teeth.

Preparation: We will remove a thin layer of enamel from the front of the teeth that are receiving veneers. The amount of enamel removed will be as thin as the veneers. There will then be an impression made of the teeth that is sent off to a dental laboratory, where a custom procelain veneer is made.

Placement: The patient’s teeth are cleansed and the surface of the teeth receiving the veneers are etched slightly to create a better surface for the bonding process. We will then place the veneer on the front of the teeth and carefully trim the veneers to look natural. Once the veneers are properly fitted, they are permanently cemented with bonding material. Following placement of the veneers, we will examine the patient’s bite and evaluate any need for adjustments of the veneers.
