4 Core Philosophies That Make Up Your Treatment
What is Your Treatment Program Based On?
Thorough Exam and Diagnosis. Regardless of what you come in for, Doc isolates the cause of your condition. It’s not uncommon for a new patient to comment on the thoroughness of the exam. Often a patient arrives expecting an extraction or root canal and leaves with a much simpler procedure and no pain!
Minimally-invasive treatment first. Dr. Pete’s conservative approach favors using a milder treatment first if he thinks it could alleviate your condition. For example, if your tooth has a three surface cavity, instead of a customary crown and buildup (a $900 procedure), Doc Pete might do a three surface filling which often alleviates the problem with less expense. If this doesn’t hold up, you may still need the crown, but in many cases, it wasn’t necessary.
Function Must Accompany Cosmetics. Few doctors have depth of experience correcting imbalances in the head, neck and jaw that cause dental-related problems while also performing cosmetic procedures.
Cosmetic dental work and functional dentistry go together like architecture and design. If the structure of a house isn’t correct, the interior design will all be off balance as well. Great-looking dental work won’t last if it’s not in perfect harmony with the function of chewing and the jaw position.
Conscious dentistry. Doc took a year off to learn natural techniques that reduce trauma and pain. They also reduce your cost. Dr. Pete does not use sedation, and yet most of his patients are surprised at the minimal amount of discomfort they feel (see Patient Success).
